Steve Shapiro, Founder/Managing Director – Founder
Steve has been involved in education for his entire life. After graduating from Cornell University with a bachelors and masters degree, he founded American Learning, Inc. an organization dedicated to international education and cultural exchange. Steve founded Pinnacle Learning Center with the support of many local educators. An expert in SAT, all test-prep issues, and college admissions, he has developed a no-nonsense approach to help students succeed in school and beyond. His main interests are his family, all things basketball, all things wrestling, travel and wave riding.
April Mattson, Center Director, Canton
April manages the daily operations of the center, such as sign-ups and scheduling. She is also the parents’ primary contact at the Center for updates and discussions of their child’s progress. April is a graduate of Lesley University (Masters in Ed) and has taught both high school and middle school in Massachusetts. April uses her expertise in critical reading and writing to create individualized curricula for students tutored in those subject areas.
Michelle Greco, Academic Director, Canton
In addition to working at Pinnacle Learning Center, Michelle is also a full-time special educator in the Canton Public Schools. Her background includes a bachelors in Art and Elementary Education, a masters in Art Therapy brought on by her interest in a student’s emotional impact on their education, a stint as a child and family therapist for children in a residential placement, and finally her return to education, specializing in learning disabilities, both diagnosis and remediation. At Pinnacle, she assesses, create goals and individualized plans, helping students attain their goal of being more confident and successful in the classroom.
